This week I have been working on the wheel. I have been trying to make a pitcher but it has been hard. Every time I pull the walls up I make it too thin. I definitely have to work on that because I really want to make a pitcher form for my Amazon Rainforest project. I always start working thinking I will achieve a pitcher form at the end, but it always ends up looking like the pictures I put on here of this week’s work. I always get this bowl-like form (which I like) but it isn’t the final form I wanted for this project.
I always start working thinking I will achieve a pitcher form at the end, but it always ends up looking like the pictures I put on here of this week’s work. I always get this bowl-like form (which I like) but it isn’t the final form I wanted for this project. The point of this project is to point out how the amazon was burning and no one was talking about it. Since one can put water inside a pitcher, I thought it would be a good idea to make the form of this project the pitcher. It would symbolize how water could stop this fire, and how people have to preserve the environment.
My goal for the rest of the week is to get as close as I can to a pitcher. I have to make sure I watch videos that can help me on the wheel, and then I just have to give my best to achieve the form I want for this project. At least I know how I want to glaze the pitcher, so that’s good.
